Buxton is one of the most popular destinations in the Peak District, famed for its natural water and Georgian architecture.  The town was founded by the Romans who called it Aquae Arnemetia.  It was the 5th Duke of Devonshire who put Buxton on the map with its development of the Spa and Crescent in the 1780’s.
